The Community Association for Riding  for the Disabled started in 1969, when it was run out of a private stable north of Toronto.

In 1979, with the enthusiastic support of North York Mayor Mel Lastman, CARD moved to its permanent home in the heart of beautiful G. Ross Lord Park, just north of Finch on Dufferin Street. Opening ceremonies were attended by Princess Anne.

The facility is accessible by transit, wheel-trans, car and bus. CARD is a fully dedicated therapeutic riding centre, and the program is delivered on-site. Our facility in G. Ross Lord Park is fully accessible, and includes  four paddocks, administrative offices and lounge, a 19-horse barn with wash stall, a tack room and a heated indoor arena.
